Learning Chinese is important. Not only is it our mother tongue, but
we must also consider the influence of the language as China grows in
the next few decades. In Singapore, students often have difficulties
in the Chinese language as they deem it to be difficult, boring and
there is a general lack of interest.
At Study Room, we hope to change this perception of the language. In
the lower primary, we want them to know that Chinese is not just about
memorising and rote-learning but also a beautiful language that they
can use and appreciate. In the upper primary, while preparing for
their PSLE, we want to make sure the weaker students get the attention
they need, and more importantly, have the confidence that they can do
well for Chinese too.
