Here’s a quick way to decipher the answer: leave out the second subject, try the sentence with just "I" or "me" and you can easily decide which is right.
Examples:
1) Question: He told John and (I or me) to go to school.
He told I to go to school. WRONG
He told me to go to school. RIGHT
ANSWER: He told John and me to go to school.
2) Question: Mary and (I or me) are ready to get married.
I am ready to get married. RIGHT
Me is ready to get married. WRONG
ANSWER: Mary and I are ready to get married.
3) Question: Jennifer and (I or me) like to read.
I like to read. RIGHT
Me like to read. WRONG
ANSWER: Jennifer and I like to read.
4) Question: Can you explain that to Bala and (I or me)?
Can you explain that to I? WRONG
Can you explain that to me? RIGHT
ANSWER: Can you explain that to Bala and me?
