Learning English with Journalism

It is just a few more days to Jan. 11- our first Study Room class! Many parents enquired about the way we will be conducting our classes. Over the next few days, we will explain our teaching methods.

I will be teaching English. I believe it is tough to do last-minute revision for languages so I want my students get interested in the language early in the academic year, be more exposed to English and eventually take their own initiatives to read and speak well themselves.

By letting them take on simulated roles of reporters and TV anchors, I want to sharpen their oral skills, increase the clarity of their language and improve their grammatical usage. Every week, I will also tackle an examination component such as comprehension or cloze passage so that I can equip them with the capability to ace the segments. My eventual aim is not only to prepare them for PSLE, but also to get them to love the language, provide them with the foundation to deal with secondary school English and beyond.

My classes for P1-2 English is on Saturdays 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., P3-4 class if from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and P5-6 English is from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
