Descriptions for rainy days

With PSLE just a couple of months away, it’s difficult to master the English language overnight. What we can do is to read more to boost our writing skills.

On this very wet day, I thought it would be apt to single out some descriptions for rainy days that you can use during the composition examination. These may add some bonus points to your essay.

The sky is overcast with clouds.

The rain kissed me, beating upon my head with silver liquid drops.

I lazed in bed as the rain sang me a lullaby.

I heard a tapping on the window and then it became a pitter-patter.

Large pillows of cloud were forming, blotting out the old-gold colour of the sun.

Droplets of moisture began to drip from the leaves, sprinkling onto the grass.

Covered with light grey clouds, the sky seems to suffer from depression.

Clouds swept across the skies dropping its load of water on the heads of people scurrying by.
