Good Luck!
Good luck to everyone who’s getting the PSLE results today. I am pretty nervous myself as I hope for the best for my students. Though I am in Europe now, I have asked all of them to message me once they know their results. Have even set an alarm for 5am Europe time to check[…]
Teaching you to be Exam-smart
A lot of parents are aware that we focus a lot on fun games to get students interested in our classes. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. However, all play and no work makes Jack a dumb boy! Besides the games, we reinforce concepts in classes too. More importantly, we guide[…]
New Beginnings
Renovating a place is always nerve-wrecking and exciting at the same time. On one hand, you feel concerned it may not turn out like you expect it to be or there’s delays. On the other hand, you can’t wait for the new nest to be completed and the next chapter to start! The painting of[…]
Fun Science
I love it when I’m able to make my students enjoy and learn at the same time. The structured curriculum and exam focus don’t make it easy for me to do that, but nonetheless, I try. Spicing up the last class of the year
It was our last class for the year. I decided to try something different with my P1 students to spice things up. 1) Instead of providing the composition question, I asked them to set the theme of the essay and come up with three scenes which would be used in the story. This serves as[…]
Our new centre!
A first glimpse at our new centre in Toa Payoh! Renovation starts today and we are super excited!!! We are not very superstitious so we didn’t seek an auspicious day to commence the redevelopment of our new nest; still, it’s pouring heavily now- a sign that things will flow smoothly perhaps?
The New Centre’s Shuttle Service
I am very familiar with Toa Payoh, so getting to our new centre is quite easy for me. I would walk to HSR building from Braddell MRT or Toa Payoh hub. There are a lot of bus services that head to HSR too. I understand some of our students may not know the place that[…]
Thinking Imaginatively
As a Science teacher, I aim to get them excited about the subject and think imaginatively and creatively. What better way to do that, I thought, to expose them to some problems that are out of this world! So last week, I got them to imagine they were responsible for setting up a colony on[…]
U.S. elections, Elsa, Taylor Swift or Sim Lim Scam?
I go through a piece of news with my students every week. This is to broaden their knowledge about the world, get them interested in reading and it is also a good way to learn new phrases which will be useful for their composition and comprehension cloze. For the upper primary students, I usually share[…]
