Here’s a true story that may inspire you.
I have a friend who did very badly in her PSLE . She got into “Normal” stream and needed to fulfill five years, instead of four years of secondary school.
However, she didn’t give up on herself, decided to be hardworking and strived to succeed. She later on did well enough to move to the “express” stream and then into Accountancy at NTU. She has since worked at major banks such as Barclays and Standard Chartered and is now a very sought-after banker based in London. She is probably doing much better than many of her peers who scored better than her at PSLE.
Here’s the moral of the story.
While it may seem like the end of the world to you now, it is not. This is just the first chapter of your life. And this is probably not the last time you will taste failure- there will be many other obstacles in life.
But everything’s good. As long as you don’t indulge into self-pity, there’s still plenty of hope. You are only 12. Look forward, promise yourself to work harder and believe in yourself. And you will succeed. Trust me.
As for the dismal performance this time, these are the things that will mould your character and build you into a stronger person. If life were always smooth-sailing, it would be so boring and won’t be worth living, right?
