Facebook memories recently reminded me how we bade farewell to our students in the previous years. Such nostalgia. Thanks to technology for evoking such wonderful memories.
It coincided with our goodbyes with this year’s P6 students. How time has flown by. It seemed just yesterday I teased the kids and told them they had 365 days to PSLE. Now they are facing the examinations in two days’ time.
It is always an emotional ride with the P6s.
Because we are “fighting this battle” together, a comradeship is always built. Love it when they message us in the middle of the night to ask questions, or text us after prelim to say “hey it went well!” Perhaps they may not have as fond memories of our texts as I would be nagging and reminding them to do their homework. 😀
As much as we want to be as fun as possible in our teaching, we recognise PSLE is a milestone for our students. Learning is more rigorous and there are more assignments- however, what doesn’t change is our affection for them.
Last weekend, when I passed my farewell cards to my kids, bidding them adieu, I reminded them to stay in touch and not to become strangers. I hope they will never forget the fun times we had and more importantly, I hope they had learnt more than what’s in the curriculum in their years with us.
Now, gearing up for the new P6s next year. 🙂 from Study Room http://ift.tt/2xCnPWJ
