FAQ: What do you do for lower primary English?

FAQ: What do you do for lower primary English? I want to work on my child’s composition. Do you provide that?

We cover the fundamentals (ie grammar and vocabulary) , comprehension and composition for our P1-3 classes.

For composition, we do one in class weekly.

P1: they started from writing about topics they are familiar with to one-picture composition and has moved on to four-picture stories.

P2: the students work on four-picture compositions with guidelines and phrases provided to help them with their outline. In the second half of the year, the guideline will be slowly removed to help them become more independent in writing.

P3: they learn the three-picture composition which will be tested at PSLE. Apart from outlines, brainstorming sessions and phrases provided, they will be taught how not to go out of point which is a common problem for P3 students tackling this type of essay.

From June, we will be even more intensive in composition writing. This is to prepare the students for SA2. There will be extra focus on their sentence structure, language used and most importantly, their plot. We will guide them on how to differentiate themselves from their peers.

Thank you for your trust in us. We will work hard towards the goal of improving your child’s essays in a fun environment. 😍
